Mini Minx
Don’t let the petite figure and quiet voice deceive you – Mini Minx will leave you sweaty, breathless and needing more.

Her style is fierce and unrepenting; she can turn her hand to filth or groovy but always keeps a cheeky edge to keep the clubbers entertained. Her filth sets are great for clubs and after-hours events alike, giving people to energy to keep dancing long after their feet have gone... numb. When playing groovy her infectious energy combines with the happiness of her tune selection to bring the room to life.

Mini Minx has been tearing shreds out of dance floors around the country for the last few years and shows the determination and talent necessary to achieve greatness, being able to fill the floor with a groovy warm up set or take the crowd through to the bitter end with a closing filth set.

She started to DJ at just 16, and proved her determination even then by working for Dance Faze Records and asking to be paid in vinyl! Since then she’s created her own style and worked alongside some of the best in the industry. Her very first gig was in the huge main room at The Sanctuary for Bring Back The Bounce in 2004 – and she didn’t disappoint, with Strange Dave immediately rebooking her.

Hers will be a familiar name to many through her releases on Razor Recordings, Test Lab and other labels – releases that DJs who’ve been in the scene far longer would be pleased to put their names to. Using samples, driving basslines and unusual vocals she makes powerful party music that’s found its way into the boxes of DJs like Pickup & Rise and Riggsy to name just a couple. Tunes like Let Me Clear My Throat and Stormchaser and in demand whenever she plays out. She also has some unreleased work under her belt – like the well respected remix of OD404’s Fireball & Rachael Auburn Screwdriver.

The Frantic 11 album, released in 2008, featured her collaboration with Riggsy; ‘Hold It On’, giving her even more exposure. Almost every one of her tracks has been signed to a label – with ‘Needed U’ coming out in July on the new RiseUp Digital label @ Trackitdown.net.

Residencies at Shine, the infamous afterclub in Birmingham have helped to cement her reputation for impressing the crowds. But not content with playing smaller venues, her recent sets in packed-out rooms at the big names like Frantic and Bounce2This have shown that her fan base is growing - and rightly so.

Mini Minx has also wowed the clubbers at Storm, Sundissential, Polysexual, Hi Oktane and Cyberkitten – as well as playing her first festival in 2008 at Bulldog Bash – rocking the 2000 capacity tent!

With even bigger and better things in the pipeline for 2009, make sure you give your clubbers a good Minxing!

This is one rising star that will shoot right to the top.

Matt Pickup

Matt Pickup is one of the most charismatic and talented DJs in the world of hard house.
A Northern lad through and through, his friendly, smiling manner belies the hard-as-nails, uncompromising nature of his music.
He has become renowned in the hard dance scene for being one of the most flawless, precise mixers around who knows how to test a soundsystem to its limits and isn’t afraid to show that they’re having a good time.
A Matt Pickup set is not only a sonic assault on the mind and the ears, but also an attack on the body, with fat, ribshaking basslines an essential ingredient.
His sets are not for the faint-hearted, and after an hour on the dancefloor with him behind the decks, you’d best believe you will be feeling battered and bruised.

Matt had been DJing for several years before he made his real breakthrough in 2005.
After sending Will Paterson (promoter of Frantic) a demo of tough, pacey filth, Matt soon found himself receiving bookings with the hard dance giant.
His first set for them in February 2005 at the 4500 capacity Hard House Academy saw him take the legendary Foyer to pieces and leave a long-standing mark on the London hard dance scene.
Sets across the country soon followed, with the likes of GoodGreef and Cyberkitten soon snapping him up, with Tasty and Sundissential both securing his services later on. He is a resident at the ever-popular Bradford-based Parlez-Vous alongside Andy Whitby, Shan and Ben Stevens and at Early Doors in Manchester and is a regular guest at the up and coming night Cyberkitten in Northampton.
His boundless enthusiasm behind the decks has made him a firm favourite amongst harder crowds and he can always be relied on to absolutely destroy a dancefloor with his super-tough energetic sound.

He also runs a successful hard dance digital label UFC Records (www.u-f-c.co.uk), including some of his own production as part of the collective.
The first 3 tracks on the label hit the top twenty downloads within the first two days of launch on tidy digital.
He has made a great start in the world of production with infectious tracks like ‘House Rockin’’ and has tracks due to be released on vinyl called “Antidote” on Nosebleed and “Espionage” on Volatile NRG.

The future looks very bright for Matt Pickup. Having earned the respect of his peers, he’s now setting his sights for the very top – and it looks like he’s going to reach it...
