PRISM RETURNS WITH SA’S BIGGEST
NEW YEARS EVE FESTIVAL
REZONANCE
4 DAYS – 2 STAGES – 1 MINDBLOWING EXPERIENCE
The annual festival, presented by Prism, returns to the exquisite Mooiwater farm on Theewaterkloof Dam, on Saturday the 29th of December, and promises to take you on a four-day, non-stop musical journey into the New Year.
Thousands of fans enjoyed the upbeat and high-energy environment at last year’s festival, and the latest line-up is expected to attract even more! REZONANCE boasts two stages and features some of the hottest international and local talent, not to mention a massive fireworks display to boot!
Legendary Israeli Trance veteran DOMESTIC (Ido Ophir), headlines the main stage, “Rezonance”, with his exceptional musical talent, that has seen every track he’s made, become dance floor hits. His overwhelming electro feel and an undeniable sound signature of hypnotic techno-trance, powerful European trance and pure Goa, have landed him top spots at festivals across the globe, and made him one of the most respected artists in both the underground psychedelic movement and the club scene.
Fellow Israeli AZAX SYNDROM (Regev Azaria) joins him on the main stage, to deliver banging psychedelic tunes, seasoned with metal guitar flavours. Best known for unique music and style, he has collaborated with artists including Skazi, Absolom, and Psysex, and released his dance floor hit debut album “Evolution” earlier this year.
Also performing on the Rezonance Stage, is Italian “funkadelic” duo LOOPUS IN FABULA (Matteo Stroppa and Jacopo Barbaccia), who have spent the last decade taking their blended live+DJ set to almost every corner of the world. The duo, renowned for recreating old school classics, has developed a distinctly unconventional and twisted style of electronic dance music, with a groovy, funky flavour.
To “Set it Proper”, the Rezonance Stage also features some of SA’s finest and most diverse bands. THE RUDIMENTALS bring you their blend of Pan African Ska, dance-hall rap, dope Reggae Rhythm and vintage Ska – with a dash of Jazz and the Blues. Their live shows have captured the imagination of everyone who has seen them, blurring age, taste and social group boundaries – from the Cape Town International Jazz Festival, to UB40, Vortex trance parties, and everywhere in between!
Described by zaZone.com as “A rough-edged fusion of classic and new-age rock, painted with liquid vocal overtones”, TAXI VIOLENCE brings to the main stage, their sheer energy that drives any crowd into a frenzy. The band, who recently released their debut album ‘Untie Yourself’, refuses to play a mediocre song, and audiences seem drawn in by their unique brand of infectious fun, raw energy and soul.
Electronic enigmas GOLD FISH also bring their exciting new sound to the Rezonance Stage. Their tracks, a combination African jazz melodies, fluid house grooves, down-tempo instrumentals and a dash of blues, have appeared on compilations both locally and internationally, and the duo are fast building a cult-like following.
The second stage, aptly named ‘Prism’, features a smooth blend of electro, dub and ambient sounds and sees the infamous BALKANOLOGY crew playing their fusion of Gypsy, Serbian, Macedonian, Bulgarian and Romanian melodies. THE KOLO NOVO MOVIE BAND, one of the most popular in the crew, have their roots in Eastern Europe but incorporate many diverse styles into their music, and their live performances are filled with unrestrained energy and passion.
…And that’s just to whet your appetite! There are still over 30 more international and local DJ’s and bands to be announced. There is also an adventure trip to Thailand, and other awesome prizes up for grabs from M-150 Energy drinks, who will be also be selling the drink, M-150 original cocktails and shooters at the event.
In line with all the outdoor music festivals world-wide, REZONANCE caters for everyone – from Trance to Rock, Electronic live acts to Eastern European fusion, boerewors to baklava, and vodka to herbal teas! All this, at a breathtaking venue, surrounded by mountains, with a river, natural swimming pools and camping facilities, you’d swear it was Christmas!!!
Tickets are only R280 from outlets or R320 at the gate.
