Cubism returns to The Source with one of the Jewels in the Crown from the record label bringing label partner Saytek to town for a long overdue visit to Maidstone for one of his Reworked album tour dates. He will perform his live improvised hardware show at The Source supported by the full compliment of Cubism residents Mark Gwinnett, Paul Johnson, Mike Healey and Deanoloco.
Recently described as "amazing" and "one of the UK's freshest and exciting acts" by the legendary Carl Cox to 13 million listeners world wide, its safe to say is been a great Summer for Saytek and his world-renowned hardware live shows with everyone from DJ mag to Data Transmission grabbing him for an interview over the last couple of months.
Saytek has made his name as one of the best live acts to emerge from the UK and has been booked as the main headliner at Fabric in London, Sankeys in Manchester and Mint club Leeds as well as being top of the billing at international dates including The Zoo Project Ibiza, Amnesia Milan, Caf� de Anvers in Belgium, Mr C's Super Freq in France and even secret warehouse parties in Berlin and Frankfurt.
The music on offer is written produced then performed live by the man himself, using a classic Roland 909, synths, samplers and FX alongside trusty old Ableton. He effortlessly takes the audience on an intense journey through deep driving house and techno. Saytek's trademark sound is soulful , intellectually pleasing and timeless whilst being aimed squarely at the peak time dance floor.
The "Saytek Reworked" Album features edits and remixes taken from his live show and is out now on Cubism, supported by Luciano, Laurent Garnier, Richie Hawtin, Steve Lawler, Dubfire, Claude Von Stroke, Carl Cox, Tim Green, Derrick May, 2000 and One, Anthony Collins, Solomun and Nic Fanciulli and many other tastemakers. The album was released on Cubism Records at the start of this summer and immediately made a huge impact with Saytek being booked all over Europe adding to an already packed schedule! He is doing a number of dates with Cubism as part of the tour for this album which is taking in clubs across the UK culminating in something rather special towards the end of the year!
Entry is FREE before 11pm for this party and Source resident Rob Cockerton will be providing the early evening beats. Also after this date Cubism will revert back to a bi-monthly date at Source instead of the current monthly party as we are taking in a number of dates over the coming months with Saytek for this album tour. This will also be the first time the residents have played alongside Saytek since the legendary Cargo party in London earlier this year. We can't wait to bring him to Source for this first reunion after the mayhem in London which saw 1000+ ravers going nuts to his Live show back in March.
