Background
Updated 06-03-10 15:03
In 2001 Brett Wood played his first set in London at a club called The Drome now known as SE1 for an event called X-static. Back then his love for the harder side of music was gaining him bookings both in the UK and abroad. Playing clubs such as Camden Palace, The Renaissance rooms, Es Paradis and SE1 to name just a few. Huge events such as Sundissential, Insomnia, Clash of the titans and Raindance were just some of the events Brett was playing back then.
Brett went on invest in his studio and enrolled at Thames Valley University to go on to gain his BA (HONS) and HND in music technology!
After his graduation Brett decided to set up Direct Drive Recordings to showcase his own productions into the scene which led to support from the likes of Billy Daniel Bunter, Dave Pearce, Dave Joy, Phil Reynolds, Carl Nicholson, JK, Andy McCall and Matt Church!
He released tracks such as Sensations, Sectioned, Captured and System Error before starting to remix for the massive www.canyoufeelitmedia.com run by both legends Billy Daniel Bunter and Slipmatt! He has so far remixed hardcore classic Bodyslam and Ride like the wind which is also to be featured on the new 2 Decades of Hard Dance compilation mixed by Billy Daniel Bunter and Kevin Energy! Also due soon with be his remix of Walking on air and Wings which have been also getting some excellent support!
After his success with Can You Feel It Brett started to get the bug back for Djing after blasting back on the scene with his own event Rezurrection! Rezurrection became known for its massive party vibe very quickly although due to being a secret event (sssshhhhhh!!!!) it began to grow and grow. Unfortunately Rezurrection was shut down at the last one back in August 2009 but with support now from the powers that be it looks possible for Rezurrection to bounce back and tear 2010 apart!
At the tail end of an amazing 2009 with Rezurrection and the success of Brett’s engineering and productions it was only then he got the opportunity of a lifetime. Brett went on to play the likes of Slinky and then Gatecrasher New Years Eve at Arena in Kent. From that point onwards Brett has never looked back playing Glow Ball, Smile, Total Mayhem and Tasty its now time for Brett Wood to pump some more energy into the scene with what he calls his productions “trance with bollox”!!!
Dave Joy of Joyride Recordings is the latest label to take notice of Brett. Dave has recently signed Brett’s new track Composure and also given certain remixing duties to him! Dave spoke highly of Brett in how quick he works in the studio and the results that come back out of it!
It seems 2010 could be a big year for Brett Wood with Can You Feel It and Joyride Recordings pushing him to full fill his potential it’s a no wonder why they all feel that the future of Hard Trance is safe in Brett Woods hands!!!
